Statement of the Executive Office of the President of Poland

In connection with the decision of Warsaw’s Mayor Hanna Gronkiewicz-Waltz to ban the Independence March, which results in an unnecessary escalation of emotions that may further disturb the celebrations of the Polish Independence Day, President of Poland Andrzej Duda invited Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki for consultations.

During the meeting an agreement was made, in accordance with the proposals of veterans, to organize a state-run, white-and-red flags march on November 11, on the occasion of the centenary of Poland regaining her independence. The Polish government will undertake all necessary logistical preparations.

The march will have the character of a state ceremony. As in the case of all state ceremonies related to the celebration of the centenary of Poland’s independence, the President of the Republic, Andrzej Duda, will assume the National Patronage.

We wholeheartedly invite all Polish Citizens, men and women, as well as all groups to participate in this March!
