Polonia Institute condemns

naked aggression against Ukraine

by Russia and Belarus

February 24, 2022

The Polonia Institute strongly condemns the aggression of the Russian Federation and Belarus against the sovereign state of Ukraine and the Russian illegal recognition of the occupied regions of Ukraine.

We condemn the violation of the fundamental principles of international law and treaties of the United Nations by the Russian Federation and Belarus. By using brute force, the Russian Federation is brazenly violating the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine.

We condemn the activities of the Russian Federation and Belarus that are in breach of all the principles of international norms established by the Helsinki Act of 1975.

According to the Nuremberg Principles, the planning, preparation, initiation, or waging of a war of aggression, or a war in violation of international treaties, agreements or assurances are CRIMES AGAINST PEACE!

We remind the international community that according to the judgment of the Nuremberg International Military Tribunal the initiation and conducting of a war of aggression is not only an international crime. It is the SUPREME INTERNATIONAL CRIME differing from other international crimes in that it contains within itself the accumulated evil of the whole.

We condemn the provocations carried out by the Russian Federation in Eastern Ukraine and the spreading of lies, fake news, and manipulations in the global infosphere.

We call on the American people to support Ukraine in her self-defense struggle against the naked aggression of the Russian Federation and Belarus.

We, the people of Polish ancestry, remind our American friends that in September 1939 the American people did not want to die for Gdańsk.  Please do not make the same mistake today because soon you will have the evil of war at your own doorsteps!

We call on the government of the United States to act, increase military assistance to Ukraine that fell victim to an unprovoked war of aggression by the Russian Federation with assistance from Belarus, and immediately cut off Russia from the SWIFT system.

We call on the government of the United States to implement measures that would make it impossible to broadcast the Russian war propaganda on the territory of the United States.

We call on the member states to grant Ukraine the status of a candidate country of the European Union and a road map for achieving NATO membership.

We call on the government and parliaments of all countries to explicitly condemn the aggression by the Russian Federation and to move immediately with the implementation of the strongest possible sanctions against the Russian aggressor state.

We call on international organizations to initiate identification investigation and prosecution of the Russian crime against peace and the perpetrators of the war crimes committed by the Russians in connection with the aggression against Ukraine.

We express our full support for the Ukrainian people and the Ukrainian state in their struggle for liberty and sovereignty against Russian aggression.
